CNN —It sounds like Ariana Grande’s experience filming the upcoming “Wicked” movie was rather wonderful. “It was just the most extraordinary, transformative and beautiful experience I’ve ever had in my life,” Grande said on Vogue’s Met Gala red carpet on Monday. They join an impressive legacy of actors who’ve portrayed the roles including Idina Menzel, Michelle Williams and Kristin Chenoweth. Grande wore a light pink gown by designer Jonathan Anderson to the star-studded event. “Wicked: Part 2” will follow in late 2025.

CNN —The stars of the new “Wicked” movie appear to be gearing up for an epic “method dressing” press tour, having opted for color-coded looks on the Oscars red carpet Sunday night in Los Angeles. Cynthia Erivo wore a bewitching emerald-green custom leather Louis Vuitton gown with structured ruffle sleeves and train, as a nod to her, well, “wicked” character Elphaba. Cynthia Erivo arrives at the Oscars channeling her character Elphaba, Wicked Witch of the West in the fictional world of Oz. Erivo and Grande even attended the 2024 Super Bowl in custom Louis Vuitton jerseys. “There’s always that incredible pressure because it’s so beloved,” Grande told Oscars pre-show co-host Vanessa Hudgens on the red carpet.

The theater, which for many Jews was a major way of becoming American in the first place, seems unable to acknowledge that the danger that American Jews face is not just historical, and not just onstage. (Both of Adler’s parents were Yiddish theater stars — her father, Jacob Adler, was a renowned Shylock in 1903.) Menzel told Ferguson that while they have always been supportive of each other, being in an interracial relationship brought the them outside pressures. “The thing that came into play more, I would say, and he’s talked about it too, is the interracial aspect of it,” she said. “I think he had his own stuff to deal with, with that,” she said of Diggs. CNN —“Disenchanted” asks the existential question, “What comes after ‘Happily Ever After?,’” which is, naturally, a sequel … only (because it’s 15 years later) for streaming. Amy Adams nimbly steps back into the role of an animated princess trying to adapt to the live-action world, in an epilogue to “Enchanted” that has moments of magic without completely delivering on the premise. As recounted in storybook fashion, Adams’ Princess Giselle settled down with her unexpected prince, single dad Robert (Patrick Dempsey), and had a baby with him. If there appeared to be room to creatively advance the mythology, “Disenchanted” merely chooses to recycle it. “Disenchanted” premieres November 18 on Disney+.
